So to me, life is like watching the sky.
The sky is always blue. Sometimes it is darkened, sometimes it is clouded, sometimes it comes with it's own soundtrack and lighting showcase. BUT it is always blue.
Rain stops, clouds pass, thunder quietens, lighting fades. The sky remains the same behind whatever God may place in front of it.
Realising this was a big step for me in my healing process. I will at some point go into more depth about what I am still asking healing for. I have made big steps towards it, but I have realised we don't all get the lucky instant healing we so often think about when we think 'bible stories'. Miracles sometimes are best when they have a journey that teaches you 1,000 things whilst taking you to the miracle, so that you are well versed in how to handle the miracle blessed upon you.
Anyways... I was getting sidetracked.
Life isn't always peachy, I'm trying my best to stay away from clichés... If we all passed through life fine and dandy, without any strife or pain, would we learn to stop and appreciate things we may not have seen before 'x' happened? Would we learn to love deeper than before we lost that friend, family member, loved one? Would we ever learn anything new?
Jesus' time on this earth was short, thinking of how in the Old Testament people lived into their 200's... Yet in his short few years on this planet, he learned things, even God hadn't taught him. The son of God, learning from man. Life is a big ole' book of education. God's world is complex, I believe he made it that way so each of our journeys upon this planet is individual. We may see corners of the world our peers have not, felt different textures, smelled different smells, seen or noticed something of the earth that no one else has seen before.
God may have made the earth in 7 days (well 6 with one to rest).... but his creation has been a gift for generations. The world as we see it today will not be the same to look at for our children, and our grandchildren.
I have learnt (the tough way) that yes life is hard at times, but I think that's the way it was intended. For in the storms we experience what it feels like to find light in darkness... To re-establish the need we have in guidance, the need we have in our relationships both spiritual and natural. God created us to create... He passed on the gift of creating things from nothing whether that be literal or creating positivity from negative circumstance. We have the ability to mould and shape our lives the way we wish, with God our creator guiding that creation.
When I struggle, I find my soul gets peace from reading Psalms, they are after all written in tough times, by finding beauty in the rain.
If Peter can walk on water because of unshaken faith he had in Jesus, then I think that with God by my side in the storm that I face I amy begin to find the light behind the clouds. It may be slow process, but I know that everything under the kingdom of heaven has its timing.
